Davey's gigantic mail machine

MP Ed Davey claimed £7343.74 from taxpayers for a mail machine.

In MPs Parliamentary Green Book, the rules states clearly “Claims must not
provide a benefit to a party political organisation.”

One Guardian journalist wrote: “My favourite has to be the £8,000 envelope-stuffing machine (one MP) claimed for. For that money, I'll stuff as many envelopes as he wants.”

Mr Davey’s tetchy response to the BBC was “If anybody thinks I have bought this machine for my own benefit, they must be crackers.”

The Green Book allows for the purchase or lease of photocopiers, faxes, scanners, phones, PCs and printers.

IT DOESN’T MENTION MAIL MACHINES COSTING OVER £7000 WHICH CAN MAIL NEARLY 4000 VOTERS AN HOUR.

WE SAY: If this gigantic machine is not for your own party political benefit, then you must be crackers.

PAY THE MONEY BACK, DAVEY
